‘Jetman’ Inspires at EBACE2018 Opening Session with Message of Perseverance

‘Jetman’ Inspires at EBACE2018 Opening Session with Message of Perseverance
Those attending the EBACE2018 Opening Session heard messages of innovation and perseverance as keynote speaker Yves “Jetman” Rossy shared his quest toward the “divine ability” to fly in the same manner as birds. An accomplished pilot, Rossy has spent close to 25 years progressing through learning to skydive, then gliding through the air on a snowboard and in wingsuits and ultimately to a series of powered, inflatable and rigid wings. Rossy noted his setbacks never discouraged him for long. “That’s what is fantastic about human nature,” he said. “The small flame of passion is always here.” Read more about the EBACE2018 Opening Session.

At EBACE2018, an Essential Industry Redoubles its Investment in Fuels, and the Future

At EBACE2018, an Essential Industry Redoubles its Investment in Fuels, and the Future
A coalition of international business aviation organizations joined government officials to redouble their focus on advancing the development and adoption of Sustainable Alternative Jet Fuel (SAJF), reflecting the industry’s long-standing commitment to emissions reduction, including, among other aims, carbon neutrality from 2020 forward. At the heart of this initiative is a new product – the “Business Aviation Guide to the Use of Sustainable Alternative Fuel (SAJF)” – focused on raising awareness and adoption of available and emerging sustainable alternative jet-fuel options, and providing a roadmap for the education about, and use of, SAJF. EBACE2018 to be Dedicated to the Legacy of Aviation Leader Serge Dassault
EBAA Chairman Juergen Wiese joined today with NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen in honoring the life and legacy of Dassault Group chairman emeritus and business aviation leader Serge Dassault, who passed away on 28 May, at age 93. Bolen and Wiese further announced that EBACE2018 would be dedicated to his legacy. “Serge Dassault was a giant and a legend who not only influenced aviation, but also commerce and politics in France and throughout Europe,” Wiese said. Bolen added: “Without question, he will long be remembered as a diplomat, statesman, innovator and leader, not just within the industry, but among all those who have been influenced by his leadership.” Read more about Dassault.
