EBAA recently unveiled an analysis of possible scenarios for business aviation operations in the aftermath of the United Kingdom’s (UK) pending exit from the European Union (EU), scheduled for 30 March 2019. An EBACE2018 education session examined options that range from maintaining the status quo to requiring the UK to renegotiate dozens of new aviation agreements with individual EU members. “Aviation is simply not on the agenda in those discussions at all,” according to Mark Bisset, with Clyde & Co. “And that’s worrying, because the clock is ticking and we’re trying to remain positive.” Read more.

With all the benefits that business aviation provides to companies, one may not consider the equally important role the industry plays in providing vital humanitarian relief in times of crisis. Dr. Siegfried Axtmann, founder and chairman of FAI Aviation Group, which includes a dedicated air ambulance operation, said, “In 2017 alone, we airlifted 925 patients a distance of around 2.5 million nautical miles, representing 160 times flying around the globe.” Read more about the EBACE2018 education session Giving Back: Business Aviation in Times of Crisis.
