Dr. Anthony PattDr. Anthony Patt is Professor of Climate Policy at ETH Zürich, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology. Originally from the United States, he studied at Yale, Duke and Harvard universities, completing a PhD in Public Policy at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. Between completing his PhD in 2000 and moving to Zürich in 2013 he was a professor and researcher at Boston University, the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research in Germany and the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis in Austria.

Patt has participated in and led a large number of research projects focusing on both the adaptation and mitigation sides of climate policy, in both industrialized and developing countries, with a focus on matching technological options for addressing climate change with the public policies that can promote their development and use.

Together with his team, Patt has published well over 100 scientific research papers, consulting reports and books. He has been a key contributor to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) since 2012 and currently serves as Coordinating Lead Author for the IPCC’s Sixth Assessment Report.
