EBACE2023 Sustainability Summit

Business aviation has long been a pioneer in aviation sustainability. The 2009 Business Aviation Commitment on Climate Change (BACCC) pledged that the industry would reduce carbon emissions 50% by 2050, increase fuel efficiency 2% per year from 2010 to 2020, and achieve carbon-neutral growth from 2020.

The EBACE2023 Sustainability Summit will continue the industry’s efforts to ensure a zero-carbon future for the sector. Participants will hear from leaders in next-generation propulsion systems, advanced air mobility, carbon-reduction advances and other sustainability initiatives.

Business Aviation Sustainability: Fact Versus Fiction

Sustainability Theater L53

Climate change has been on the industry’s agenda since the announcement of the Business Aviation Commitment on Climate Change in 2009. Media coverage, public opinion and regulators have since caught up – they are increasingly concerned about the carbon footprint of flying, the dependence on fossil fuels and the transparency in communicating the reduction of emissions. What are the facts, and what is the industry doing to bring light, and not just heat, to the debate? In this session we will discuss the industry’s commitments, achievements to date and objectives in the years to come.

History shows: where there’s a boom, a bubble follows, and then ultimately a burst. Attend this session to see if that’s what our experts are predicting, or if the push for sustainable aviation will be the next boom for the market.
