As the 2018 edition of the European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE) concluded its third and final day today, organizers reported that by every measure, the event once against served as a powerful and forward-looking showcase for the European business aviation industry. “This was a decidedly upbeat, optimistic EBACE week, which highlighted the passion and enthusiasm at the heart of the business aviation community,” said EBAA Chairman Juergen Wiese. NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen agreed, adding: “EBACE once again showed that business aviation is an industry focused on innovation and investment in the future.” Read more about EBACE2018.

More than 250 students from across the continent came to EBACE2018 today to learn about the range of pioneering, innovative and diverse career opportunities available in the business aviation industry, during the second annual EBACE Careers in Business Aviation Day. Bernhard Fragner, CEO of jet charter operator GlobeAir, offered attendees practical advice from the perspective of a business aviation operator. “Whatever you do in business, think about what you’re selling, and sell the problem your product solves,” he told attendees. “I don’t sell my customers seats on a jet; I sell them time, which has incredible value.” Read more about Careers in Business Aviation Day.

Representatives from European industry and government came together at EBACE2018 to discuss operational constraints limiting business aviation travel, and to explore methods by which these parties are confronting and mitigating them. At the forefront of these efforts is the Single European Sky ATM Research initiative that encompasses multiple programs to modernize the region’s airspace system. Also discussed were the daily challenges European operators fact over access to airports, including landing slot distribution and time limitations tied to runway and ramp capacity constraints.
