EBACE2017 Showcases Energy and Strength of Business Aviation in Europe
As the 2017 European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE2017) wrapped up, organizers said the show was one of the most successful in recent memory, reinforcing its reputation as the industry’s most important event in Europe. EBACE is jointly hosted by the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) and the European Business Aviation Association (EBAA). “Anyone who spent the last week at EBACE can see the passion and professionalism that define this industry,” said EBAA CEO Brandon Mitchener. NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen agreed, stating: “This week once again highlighted the enduring value of EBACE, and of business aviation around the world.” Watch a video about EBACE2017 and read more about the show.

More than 250 high school, vocational and university students from 120 schools across Europe attended the EBACE2017 Careers in Business Aviation Day – all for free – hoping to learn more about jobs in the industry. “This is a very people-intensive industry,” Simon Witts, the founder and CEO of Aviation Skills Partnership, told the assembled students. “That’s lucky for you. There were 56 aircraft on the EBACE2017 static display at Geneva International Airport – with some making their European debut. For many show attendees, the best part of the static display is the opportunity to compare models in one location. “It’s really nice that we get the opportunity to get inside and have a look at the aircraft,” said AJ Akram, Indochina Aviation Centre/Myanmar Aviation Centre. Interactive EBACE2017 Safety Workshop Mines Real Accident Report for Ops Improvements
Business aviation has an excellent safety record, because the industry is committed to continuous improvement. That dedication brought operators together for an annual Safety Workshop at EBACE2017. “This year’s workshop is more interactive and hands-on than ever, providing us all with strategies we can implement in our day-to-day operations,” said Juergen Wiese, chairman of EBAA. The centerpiece of the workshop was an interactive analysis of a real accident report involving a Hawker 700A operated in the United States. Read more about the Safety Workshop.
