EBACE2024 Exhibitor Pledge Highlights Show’s Sustainability Emphasis

21 May 2024

EBACE2023 Exhibit Hall

An Exhibitor Sustainability Pledge is just one way organizers and participants for the 2024 European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE2024) are taking meaningful steps toward producing a more sustainable event.

Exhibitors signing the pledge agree to take at least five actions to show their support. These include carbon offsets for staff traveling to and from Geneva, reusing elements from past exhibits, creating graphics and signage with 75% recycled materials and much more. All Exhibitor Sustainability Pledge participants will be recognized for their efforts.

Attendees also can help create a more sustainable show in several ways, including recycling, using reusable water bottles, taking public transportation or walking to and from the event and more.

Sustainability will be in focus throughout the show in other ways as well, from education sessions taking place as part of a Sustainability Summit to the availability of sustainable aviation fuel at Geneva Airport.

Additionally, show co-producer the European Business Aviation Association will formally launch the proprietary Standards & Training for Aviation Responsibility and Sustainability (S.T.A.R.S.) Program at the show. S.T.A.R.S. offers a holistic framework for organizations to develop and integrate environmental and social strategies seamlessly. By aligning with both the Business Aviation Commitment on Climate Change (BACCC) and the UN Sustainable Development Goals, S.T.A.R.S. propels business aviation companies towards a brighter, more responsible future.

The program is the latest in a long list of impactful, innovative steps taken by business aviation as it works to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, a longstanding goal set forth in the Business Aviation Commitment on Climate Change, and, more recently, in the CLIMBING.FAST. advocacy initiative. S.T.A.R.S. serves as a complement to show co-producer National Business Aviation Association’s (NBAA’s) award-winningSustainable Flight Department Accreditation Program.
