Andreas Meyer

Andreas Meyer was appointed Director, ICAO Liaison at the International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) in 2021. He spent the previous seven years at the International Civil Aviation Organization, working both in the Air Navigation and Air Transport Bureau, on matters related to safety management, crisis and rapid response programmes, and cybersecurity. Before this, he held the position of Managing Director at the International Federation of Airline Pilots’ Associations.

Meyer has more than 15 years of extensive experience working in military, government and corporate flight operations in senior management roles, as well as instructor pilot, and risk and crisis manager.

Meyer holds an Air Transport Pilot Licence and aviation qualifications as instructor pilot and CRM trainer. He has a degree in Natural Sciences; holds a Master of Science in Risk, Crisis and Disaster Management from the University of Leicester; and has a certificate in Cybersecurity from Harvard. He is researcher on social and cultural aspects of risk, crisis and disaster management, and is completing a research degree in psychology and neuroscience in mental health.
