Gerald Dunst

Gerald Dunst is the owner of Sonnenerde, a soil company that produces and markets 30 different, compost-based soils.

Since 2007, he has been responsible for the HuMUS project in the Ecoregion Kaindorf in Austria, where 400 farmers with 5,000 hectares are paid to increase carbon in soils through a new carbon credit system.

Since 2012, Dunst has operated the biochar facility, PYREG, which produces 200 tons of high quality biochar every year for products such as Terra Preta, soil-activator, compost-activator, feed char and slurry char.

Together with his son DI Dominik Dunst, he founded the company CharLine to market biochar products internationally.
