Josef Mouris

Flying is part of Josef Mouris’s DNA, as such he flew his first solo glider flight aged only 16. His passion for flight led him to become an airline pilot for what was at the time Europe’s largest regional airline (Flybe). In his spare time, he is also number two in the world in the FAI class F5B and through this he realised the time was right to do something with batteries in aerospace. From his pilot experience he knows that the majority of flights in Europe are only 45-90 min, but he believes in a future for his two daughters where we can fly without impacting the climate.

Josef Mouris and his Co-founder Marc-Henry de Jong started ELECTRON to unlock zero-emission, on-demand, everyday air travel for the wider public. ELECTRON is an integrated aircraft manufacturer and operator. Initially the aircraft is being developed to sell into existing markets such as pilot training, private aircraft charter operators and logistics. This will be followed by the addition of a new regional mobility operator to fully capitalise on the huge opportunity of reconnecting thousands of underserved regional airports.

ELECTRON aerospace is also a member of the Alliance for Zero-Emission Aviation (AZEA) and the Electric Flying Connection based in the Netherlands
